PSY | Research Days 2025 at SFU’s Faculty of Psychology
On 5–6 May 2025, the Faculty of Psychology at Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna hosted its annual PhD Research Days, bringing together faculty, researchers, and PhD students for two days of insightful presentations, critical discussions, and academic exchange.
Day 1: Open Research Intervision and Developmental Psychology
The first research day started with an engaging session of open research intervision. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to developmental psychology, with Iris Enengl and Caroline Vavrik presenting compelling research on self-regulation and goal-setting in early adulthood.
Day 2: A Twin Study and (Un-)Certainty in Court
On the second day, Stefano De Francesco shared findings from a twin study examining genetic and environmental influences on metacognition in youth. Julia Struppe-Schanda concluded the programme with a thought-provoking hermeneutic exploration of emotions and the social construction of (un-)certainty in court.
The Research Days provided a rich platform for scholarly exchange and intellectual exploration, reflecting the faculty’s ongoing commitment to advancing psychological research and critical enquiry.
