PSY | Pilot project at the Faculty of Psychology: CoARAverse reforms research evaluation with faculty-wide working group
The CoARAverse project aims to realize a reform of research evaluation at the Faculty of Psychology at SFU.
In order to take into account the different research cultures of the faculty, the reform will focus on qualitative indicators, peer review, and participatory involvement of faculty members. Using “participatory contact zones,” the faculty-wide CoARAverse working group will reform three assessment tools at both the individual and faculty level:
- The Research Report, which represents SFU’s annual research output, will be revised with regard to qualitative KPIs and the Research Information System (RIS) Pure.
- The external research evaluation of the faculty will be piloted in a reformed form, based on guiding questions instead of target values and on external peer review.
- The development interview, conducted annually by the deans and other leading personnel with faculty researchers, will be further developed to promote sustainable, inclusive and individualized research careers by recognizing research profile-relevant competencies and diverse contributions and activities, including research-related care practices.
After the pilot phase, the CoARAverse approaches to research evaluation will be extended from faculty to university level.
The members of the working group are from the Faculty of Psychology Markus Wrbouschek, Gregor Wasicky, Alessandra Frigerio, Anna Schor-Tschudnowskaja, Monika Gritsch, Katharina Hametner, Birgit Stetina, Christine Smetaczek, Alexander Wendt, Armin Klaps, Tarek El Sehity, Mario Lehenbauer, a student assistant from the research office and Nora Ruck as Vice Dean for Research as well as Dominik Drexel from Quality Management at SFU.
