Abstract: As a Chief Researcher within the project, Dr. Fiaschetti’s work aims at collecting and analysing necessary historical data from international archives and libraries. This includes, among others, historical maps, travelogues, and diplomatic documents compiled by intellectual and religious elites (e.g., Jesuit missionaries) of various provenance, and currently preserved in several libraries and archives in Vienna. Further, Dr. Fiaschetti’s research within the project aims at examining these data by looking and their historical context, as well as the cultural and religious background of the communities and individuals that produced these representations and mental maps.
