The research profile at the Faculty of Psychology can be described along four guiding principles:
Research at the Faculty of Psychology reflects the bio-psycho-social nature of humans by
- embracing and further developing natural and social scientific as well as humanities based approaches,
- utilizing a pluralistic spectrum of methods,
- maintaining an interest in relevant developments in adjacent disciplines, and
- establishing a culture of dialogue across disciplinary and methodological boundaries through collaboration among researchers.
This approach contrasts with the majority of German-speaking universities, which primarily emphasize natural scientific perspectives in psychology.
