Searching for health information is one of the most common reasons for using the internet. The anonymity and low-threshold offered online can be an opportunity for people to get in touch with counsellors for the first time and accept help.
The lecturers of the course are proven specialists in the field of online counselling and it is guaranteed that the course offers a a high-level practical orientation. After successfully completing the university course, participants receive a certificate from Sigmund Freud University.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
Completed studies in psychology (Master’s degree, Magister) and registration in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health list as clinical psychologists and / or health psychologists.

€ 990,- per participant (plus ÖH fee)
Training Modules
Module 1 | Basic module (technical and legal information, psychology of the internet, special features of online counselling) |
Module 2 | Framework module (presentation of online tools, health and health models, new research approaches to e-health) |
Module 3 | Competence module (computer mediated communication, personal writing style and language, case studies) |
Module 4 | Competence module (counselling approaches, practice and challenges of online counselling, promoting emotional and social competence). |
→ Each module corresponds to 1 ECTS point.
→ The learning progress is continuously monitored by the trainers.
→ Participating in the university course is possible from everywhere and exclusively online.
