SFU is recognised by the Austrian Ministry of Health as a practical training centre for clinical psychologists and health psychologists (with effect from 1 March 2013). The postgraduate training in clinical and health psychology has been offered at Sigmund Freud University Vienna (in accordance with the Austrian Psychologists Act, PG 2013) since the academic year 2014/15.
The credo of our university course is empowering psychologists and promoting each individual who starts as a training candidate. We are proud to welcome highly successful professionals as lecturers who pursue this goal of individual development with us.
Training at the SFU Outpatient Clinic
Training at the SFU Outpatient Clinic
The special feature of the university programme at SFU is the university’s own outpatient clinic, in which candidates can complete at least part of the practical training hours, following the model of some successful psychotherapeutic training institutions. There are long-term plans to set up training places for individual students via third-party funded projects, which will enable a unique fusion of theoretical training at university level and excellent evidence-based practice under the supervision of experienced trainers.
